Kiran, this sentence — > ”In India, though it is legal to make IP-based calls outside the country, it is still not legal to make calls to a local PSTN or a cellular network using VoIP. With Indian local long distance calls being still a costly affair, with the uniform flat rate still to be implemented” got lost on you.

Hi Jonty,

I have simple and silly question - Can I, residing in India, use SKYPE to call a number (1800) legally?

Excuse me for my ignorance about the telecom lingo and terms like VoIP etc.

Thanks,
Mohan
