The Indian cricket team has given a lot of reasons to smile for the Indians in this festive season by clinching the home series against Sri Lanka with an unassailable 4-0 lead in the seven match series. What’s so fantastic about this effort is the manner they vanquished the opponents.
Under the stewardship of Rahul Dravid, India comprehensively beat the Lankans in all of the four matches played so far. In every match so far, we have seen a different match-winner coming up with almost all other players chipping in with useful contributions. Dravid himself was in prime form and so far had a very good series despite not being able to score a century. If it was Sachin and Pathan in the first two games, it was Dhoni all the way with his record-breaking innings of 183 in the third. The laurels of today’s win goes to Agarkar (5 for 44) and Dravid (63) for their contributions with the ball and bat with Dhoni (45 off 43 balls) hitting a couple of towering sixes to finish off the game. At one point India was 6 down for 180 with a possibility of defeat lurking in the shadows. But Raina (39 off 30 balls) and Dhoni not only saw India home, but in great style with 4.2 overs to spare.

After a dull year and half of Indian cricket this win is really refreshing news for Indian cricket fans and coming in such a festive season makes the win even sweeter a treat to savour.
