Senior Gujarat cop RB Sreekumar has filed an affidavit before the Nanavati-Shah commissions seeking that Chief Minister Narendra Modi undergo forensic tests in connection with the Godhra train massacre that sparked communal riots in Gujarat in 2002. At least 1000 people were massacared in the pogrom.
Commission sources said that Sreekumar in his affidavit alleged that ‘the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) was used by politicians and some senior police officials to ‘produce’ a conspiracy theory, including the role of Pakistan-based ISI, about the attack without any sufficient evidence’. (Read the Conspiracy Theory in Deccan Herald)
So what kind of forensic tests should Narendra Bhai undergo? A few maybe lie-detector (for lying), narco-analysis (to ascertain if he is not making up stories), DNA (if he participated in the alleged campaign of mass rape during the riots), ballistics (if any of the firearms used to kill during the riots belonged to him) or simply post mortem (to know what he had for breakfast, lunch and dinner) after he dies as the commission is not expected to come to any conclusion in near future.
