I think both points are valid - it is different and it isn’t violent. The game is well done for the audience they are aiming at.
For lots of people, I suspect there is a wealth of new information here - how to get supplies where they are needed, that different people are involved in solving different parts of the puzzle, and that the time lines involved in solving real world problems vary depending on the problem. Most people like be enlightened.

Wow, this is great! Enough of those games where killing is the theme. It’s time to have one where living is the game.
