India celebrates Eid today amidst tight security following the recent terror attacks in Delhi on Diwali eve. The terror designs were failed by us which was to instigate communal tension between Hindus and Muslims as the attacks were carried on the eve of Diwali and Eid was to follow soon in the same week. India as a whole and Delhi in particular beat the terrorists’ bombs with firecrackers.



Similarly, today on this auspicious Muslim festival, millions of Muslims thronged the mosques all over the country to offer prayers. Tens of thousands of Muslims offered prayers in Delhi’s Jama Masjid in best of attires. Joy reflected on the faces of the young and the old, strong and the infirm and everyone in between. Muslims turned out in traditional attire and the spirit was upbeat.







As evening falls, the firecrackers have started bursting lighting up the Delhi skyline slowly. Though Hindus have always celebrated Eid with fellow Muslims in India this Eid is particularly seen by the Hindus as a very important event to celebrate following the unprecedented show of brotherhood by the Muslims in the wake of the Diwali tragedy towards the Hindus.



We have always shown the world what a special country we are where the most diverse of cultures find a common hue during each others hour of joy, sadness or even madness. No country can ever hope to even match us in our unbridled spirit of brotherhood.
