A couple of weeks back teen heartthrob Sania Mirza, who is also a tennis player allegedly said that it was ok to get laid safely before marriage. We too endorse her if at all she said so. After all, what is natural is never obscene, right? Remember the famous Benetton ad? Why should one wait till marriage and remain sexually frustrated if one wants it so bad? It is however a different story for those who belong to the ‘nay-sayers’ club. We don’t want to argue with them. We simply don’t have the time or desire.
However, when Sania says something, it makes news. Anything about Sania is news in India these days. The local mullahs issued a fatwa against her for wearing short skirts while playing. The effect was such that the poor Ms Mirza had to give up participating in a fashion event before a recent tournament where all the other players participated promoting the sponsors.
The effect of the last fatwa still prevails. Once Sania allegedly made the statement, she created a furor amongst a certain section of public. The perverts were interested and wanted more from the beautiful lass on the forbidden subject. Sania went back to her alleged endorsement on the subject and issued a very diplomatic statement that we are yet to understand (honestly).
She was asked again to clarify at a press meet by pressmen who came to cover her promotional campaign of Malabar Gold. So what did the confused girl do? She just walked off. Apparently she wanted to stay faithful to her convictions as well as keep the mullahs in good humour.
That was indeed the best method. Cheers Sania! And for you guys out there - just forget about sex and Sania for the time being. Let the issue cool down. We are sure to have some masala from her in the coming years.

Having become a celebrity she is still entitled to her personal life and views. I’m sure her parents and elders are there to guide her so let’s leave it to them and enjoy the tennis on the court.
