Terrorists have not tasted success in recent times when it comes to carry out a high-profile political assassination in India. Much of the credit should go to the agencies responsible for the PM security.
So what do the frustrated thugs do? They send an email to threaten to kill the PM and his Bangladesh counterpart Begum Khaleda Zia.
Bangladesh’s elite Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two people two persons from the city’s Mohammadpur area for sending the email that also threatened to blow up the venue of the SAARC summit. RAB sources said that the email was sent to some national dailies in the name of one Kamal under the banner of the banned Jaamatul Mujahedin Bangladesh (JMB) on Thursday night.
Bangladesh is rapidly turning into a hotbed for terrorists and religious extremism in South Asia that poses a great threat not only to the region but to the whole world.
The PM is in Dhaka for the SAARC summit. The city has been turned into a virtual fortress with tens of thousands of security forces being deployed and every vehicle plying on sensitive roads are searched, people being frisked.
Luckily bombs and explosives cannot be sent as email attachments. God knows what might have happened if that was possible. So thank you God for the small blessings.
